What is Abdominal Acupuncture?
This urged the founder to dedicate his time and efforts to the research and development of Abdominal Acupuncture, unearthing the mystery of this new medical breakthrough. The theory behind this form of acupuncture is similar to those mild needling system theories such as Auricular (ear) Acupuncture. Auricular Acupuncture theory states that there are over 90 frequently used points on each ear which is related to specific parts of the body. This new Abdominal Acupuncture system works on the same theory, the abdomen and navel area also possess acupoints related to the whole body. We need only stimulate specific acupoints (points on the meridian) on the abdomen, and this will in turn reflect upon the problem area, in many cases providing immediate relief to the patient. This technique unlike other mild needling techniques uses the traditional meridian system framework, and possesses the same traditional meridian healing abilities. Treatment aims to adjust, harmonize and re-balance the body and mind. By promoting Qi – the increase in energy flow and blood flow enables the body to expel any pathogenic factors. By concentrating acupuncture therapy in the abdominal and navel region, all parts of the body can be treated because energy flows of the whole body are focused in this area. The technique has been found to be particularly powerful in treating chronic or long-term diseases and problems of the major internal organs, as well as joint problems and muscle pain.
Advantages of Abdominal Acupuncture
How is Abdominal Acupuncture Performed?
Your initial consultation will include a physical examination to find a suitable course of treatment for you. Our practitioners will use several methods to diagnose your problem, they will:
Ask questions about past and present symptoms, injuries and illnesses, family health history, diet, emotional wellbeing, work and lifestyle habits.
Observe skin tone, eyes, hair and other physical conditions.
Examine the tongue.
Take several pulse rates. Each consultation and treatment is unique to the individual. In order to assure that you are fully benefiting from your prescribed treatment, you will be periodically reassessed. The frequency of reassessments will be made at the discretion of individual practitioners.
Whereas traditional acupuncture can sometimes cause minor pain and soreness, Abdominal Acupuncture provides a more relaxing and comfortable experience. Our practitioners will insert fine, sterile, stainless steel needles into acupoints of your abdomen and navel area. The procedure is painless; however, you may encounter a slight tugging sensation when the needle is inserted into the skin. These needles are normally left in place for 30 minutes or as recommended by our practitioners.
Important note: 8AM Healthcare operates at government licensed premises. All needles used are sterile and are immediately disposed of after use. As a result, there is no possibility that any infection can be transmitted via the use of our needles.
Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing
The city of Nanjing is renowned for cultivating some of the best traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Practitioners in China. Being the birthplace of the earliest academics of TCM, it provides a crucial base for breaking down and transforming the traditional pattern of “master-to-disciple” TCM education to the current class lectures and teaching.
